In 1972, Jay "Sparky" Longley began experimenting with sandal making in his Laguna Beach garage. With a modest $200 investment, he purchased a sewing machine and some rubber, setting out to create the best sandal possible. This endeavor officially became Rainbow Sandals, Inc. in 1974. Today, Rainbow Sandals produces 2 million pairs annually. Product Description

What is the difference between single-layer and double-layer sandals?
Both types of sandals offer arch support. The double-layer sandals include an additional layer that raises the heel by 5/16 of an inch, ideal for those with high arches or who wear insoles.

What if I'm in-between sizes?
Our sizing chart accounts for half sizes in our layered construction styles. If you find yourself between sizes, we recommend sizing down. For numbered sizes, also size down if you are a half-size.

How do I break in my sandals?
Customers suggest placing a tennis ball or water bottle under the straps overnight to help stretch them. Wearing socks initially can protect your skin while the straps conform to your foot. Start with wearing them for five minutes and gradually increase the duration to allow your feet to adjust.

How do I clean my sandals?
Wiping your sandals with a damp cloth and mild soap has been reported as effective by some customers. Note that the Rainbow Sandals Agreement does not cover water damage or delamination resulting from cleaning.

My leather sandals got wet, what should I do?
Ensure your sandals dry completely out of direct sunlight to prevent the leather from becoming brittle and cracking. If they curl after drying in the sun or heat, continued use should help them flatten out and return to normal.
